Minnesota sports fans aren’t used to winning a whole lot, especially fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves, so I guess it’s not too surprising one executed a high-profile protest no one can ever remember seeing before during a play-in game between the T-Wolves and Los Angeles Clippers.

Give her credit for creativity. In the second quarter of the game, in an attempt to bring attention to a particular cause, she made an effort to superglue herself to the court.  Yes, she was going to glue herself to the floor. It didn’t work, but a lot of people were talking about her, and she made her presence felt.

TNT sideline reporter Allie LaForce described what happened during a timeout as security guards walked the woman off the floor and Target Center employees made an effort to clean the glue off the floor so that play could continue.

Okay, I know you are wondering, what got this woman so unglued? She is an animal rights protester and upset that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has a factory farm that showed chickens conscious after being roasted alive. If that’s true, it’s easy to understand why she went to these lengths.

After being released, the woman immediately went to Twitter to explain herself.  Her name is Alicia Santurio.  Here’s what she tweeted Tuesday night.

“I superglued down to the basketball court to bring attention to the mass killing of chickens at glen taylors factory farm using vsd.”

Vsd is “ventilation shutdown.” An investigation reportedly exposed Taylor’s factory farm of killing 5 million chickens with that method.

Go Clippers!
