LeBron James could learn a thing or two about elite level trash talking from the creator of the mega Netflix hit  “Squid Game.”

Not like the show needs any more publicity since almost every human with a Netflix account has seen it, but Hwang Dong-hyuk knows how to score some headlines as he’s schooling King James.

Here’s how it went down. LeBron was dogging the final scene of the show, telling Anthony Davis in front of reporters during a media session that he didn’t like the conclusion of Squid Game.

Hwang found out about it, and then went off on James in an interview with The Guardian.

“Have you seen Space Jam 2?”

Ouch.  That’s essentially a drop the mic moment but Hwang went in harder. “LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series.”

The South Korean writer feels his ending was just fine.  Tens of millions of people would tend to agree with him I think.

“But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending. If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, ‘I liked your whole show, except the ending.’”

Time to look at the scoreboard.

Hwang’s show is the most popular in the history of Netflix.

Space Jam 2  has a 26% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
