New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had a big day.
First the big apology session for the media where he made it clear he would not resign, even amidst calls from over 30 lawmakers for him to step down, and in the middle of a scandal over his alleged unwanted kissing and creepy behavior.
After that, he did something that made a lot of people happy in New York City. He announced that some of the most famous and popular Big Apple entertainment venues can open soon, including Broadway theaters.
Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall and Broadway are allowed to welcome guests again starting April 2.
Attendance will be limited to 100 people indoors and up to 200 people outdoors. Cuomo will allow for up to 150 people indoors and 500 outdoors if they can show a negative COVID-19 test.
He laid out a bunch of other rules that frankly are so confusing to follow you almost need a scorecard, but in essence it goes like this.
Starting March 22, residential gatherings will be allowed up to 25 people outdoors.
Indoor gatherings can only have 10 people.
Wait, there’s more. non-residential social gatherings of up to 100 people can occur indoors, while outdoor events may bring in 200 people.
For New Yorkers who find these rules too stifling and constrictive, they can move to Texas and pack 200, unmasked people into their living room if they want.
