A record number of voters are expected to turn out Tuesday to cast a vote in one of, if not the most critical elections in American history.

So much is at stake, and the results will determine which direction the country goes for the next two years before a new President is elected.

The states are high, and expectations for Republicans might be higher.

The Daily Mail quoted a Republican aid saying, “I think the expectation is that we pick up 40 seats at minimum.”

The polls opened at 7 AM on the East Coast, and the lines were long as we will (hopefully) soon find out what people think of Joe Biden’s agenda that has led to a crashing economy and crime and homelessness in some cities at a breaking point.

Over 40 million people cast early ballots, and voter turnout is expected to be bigger than four years ago when Democrats flipped the House in their “blue wave.”

Will it be a “red wave” this time?

Key races to watch are the Senate races in Pennsylvania and Georgia. The Mayoral race in Los Angeles and heated Governor showdowns in many states, including Arizona.

Joe Biden has enjoyed free reign for the first two years of his presidency, but his speechwriters had him tell reporters on Monday night that it would be difficult to govern if Republicans had a majority in the House and Senate.

Surveys show that the economy is the number one issue for voters, with nearly 80% saying their votes will reflect that.

Another poll shows that 70% of voters believe the country is on the wrong track.  The country is led by Democrats, so that might not be the most favorable news for Pelosi and company.

Experts say Republicans could take the majority with 227 seats compared to the Dems’ 174. There are 34 races called toss-ups, too close to call, and even if Democrats were to win everyone one of them, it still might be enough.

If we learned anything from 2020, it’s this; don’t assume anything.
