Vladimir Putin is losing manpower – the invasion in Ukraine is costing the Russian president soldiers and to make up for the loss, Putin is said to be recruiting soldiers from women’s prisons, according to Ukrainian officials.

It has been rumored that Moscow has likely been using female inmates to fight in Kyiv grounds since the end of last year.

“Last week, a train with sleeping cars for the transfer of prisoners was spotted moving towards the Donetsk region. One of the cars [had] female convicts [in it],” Ukraine’s defense ministry said in an update published on Monday.

Olga Romanova, co-founder of the prisoner rights organization, Russia Behind Bars, stated to iStories, “They were taken from penal colonies in southern Russia. I don’t know the exact ones, but they worked in Kushchevka [in the southern Krasnodar region].”

There are also talks of the Wagner mercenary group infiltrating Russian schoolchildren with recruitment ideals to hopefully build young soldiers willing to join the fight in Ukraine.

This comes shortly after a group of Russian wives and mothers called on President Putin over the weekend to stop sending their husbands and sons to the “slaughter” through force in joining the assault groups without proper training or supplies.

One can imagine how they would be sending the female prisoners to battle – most definitely unfit to go to war. This sounds like a potential death sentence to the women with no choice other than to fight.

Russia has a notoriously weak army, so the rush to recruit any able bodies to the forefront of these trenches come as no surprise.
