A pro-Palestine activist unleashed a box full of mice into a McDonald’s in Birmingham, England to protest the company’s perceived support of Israel on Monday.

In the activist’s TikTok, he shows a box full of mice in the trunk of his car, which had “FREE PALESTINE” printed on its license plate. Then, wearing a Palestine doo-rag, he marches up to the store’s front doors, walks past a few customers, and dumps them into the restaurant to loud screams. The post’s caption read, “enjoy your rat burgers.”

In the clip, the activist embedded a graphic promoting an ongoing boycott of Starbucks, McDonalds, and Disney, claiming that they actively support the Israeli cause against Hamas. “Start by boycotting these brands that are directly involved in supporting the Israeli apartheid,” the text read.

The graphic claims McDonald’s donated free meals to the Israeli army. This is true when it comes to McDonald’s Israeli franchisee, but this was not a decision made by McDonald’s corporate. But this did not stop protestors in Lebanon and Turkey from ransacking McDonald’s by pro-Palestine mobs.

Starbucks, the graphic also claims, is suing its union for posts supporting Palestine. Starbucks in fact did sue the union representing its employees, Workers United, in federal court on Oct. 18 over a pro-Palestine social media post that the company claimed damaged its reputation and enraged hundreds of customers. The lawsuit demanded that the union cease using its logo in its promotional materials and drop the name “Starbucks Workers United.” In retaliation, the union counter-sued Starbucks in federal court over its right to use the company name and logo. It also sued Starbucks for defaming its union as a supporter of terrorism.

Finally, it claims Disney donated $2 million to Israel. Disney donated $1 million to Magen David Adom, an affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies that provide aid and emergency services to Israel. It also donated $1 million to other nonprofit organizations in Israel that primarily help children. These are non-governmental organizations and do not count as donations on Disney’s part to the Israeli state.

McDonald’s confirmed Monday night that a “number of mice” were released into one of its stores and that the company subsequently had the location “fully sanitised” after the event.
