Manny Pacquiao is returning to the ring!

The last time Pacquiao fought was in August of 2021. The multi-million-dollar fight took place in Las Vegas, and he lost a bid to regain his 147-pound title against little-known Cuban Yordenis Ugas.

Shortly after, Pacquiao announced his retirement.

“It is difficult for me to accept that my time as a boxer is over. Today I announce my retirement,” the Filipino said in a video on his social media in September 2021 after his loss to Ugas

Pacquiao has been a Philippine congressman, a senator, and candidate for the country’s presidency.

He conceded to Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in May 2022 after it became clear he had no chance of winning the presidency.

Marcos Jr. had more than 31 million votes compared to Pacquiao’s 3,627,979, according to Filipino news outlet.

“I know how to accept defeat. But I hope that even though I lost this race, my countrymen, especially the poor, still win in this scenario,” said Pacquiao in a statement.

Pacquiao’s next fight will be against Korean YouTuber DK Yoo.

“It is difficult for me to accept that my time as a boxer is over. Today I announce my retirement,” the Filipino said in a video on his social media in September after his loss to Ugas.

Pacquiao will return to the ring on December 10, when he faces DK Yoo, who announced the fight in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
