Rapper Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty recently purchased their $19.5 million-dollar Hidden Hills home back in December 2022. Hidden Hill residents, however, are not thrilled to have a registered sex offender as their neighbor.
Minaj is facing potential disruption to their peaceful living due to a neighborhood petition, titled “Say No to Sex Offenders in Hidden Hills.” The petition was initiated by a concerned neighbor following Petty’s status as a registered sex offender in New York, and his recent address change on the Megan’s Law website to their new Los Angeles home.
The petition primarily cites worries about property values and safety as reasons for opposing the presence of a registered sex offender in the neighborhood. Despite its growing support, neither Petty nor Minaj have responded to the petition thus far.

In addition to the neighborhood dispute, Petty has more pressing concerns on his plate. A judge ordered him to resolve a harassment lawsuit back in December 2022, filed against him by Jennifer Hough, the woman who accused him of sexual assault in 1994.
The judge suggested that the case be mediated to facilitate a settlement between both parties.
In a letter addressed to the judge, Hough’s attorney, Tyrpne Blackburn, explained: “we are counsel to Plaintiff Jennifer Hough in the above-referenced matter. I write jointly with counsel for Defendant Kenneth Petty. As you know, the Court provided the parties with an opportunity to engage in private mediation. The parties participated in private mediation, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach a settlement. We would like to have a scheduling conference with the court to set a scheduling order.”
Petty is currently serving a year of house arrest after failing to register as a sex offender in California.
As both the neighborhood petition and the lawsuit continue to unfold, Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty navigate a challenging period that could potentially impact their tranquil existence in Hidden Hills.
