New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is leaving office soon as the least popular mayor in the history of the Big Apple, and he’s making sure his impact is felt until the end.

On Thursday, he announced his latest restrictions in the city, this time regarding the annual New Year’s Eve celebration.

The tallest Mayor in NYC history (he’s 6’5”) declared that the crowd in viewing areas would be limited to 15,000 instead of the usual 58,000 people.

Oh, he brought back a phrase we first heard in early 2021, too, demanding that social distancing is in effect there too.

What is more romantic than a kiss, in a mask, with someone six feet away from you, as the big ball in Times Square reaches the ground marking the beginning of a new year.

He wasn’t done laying down the restrictive rules; visitors won’t be allowed in until 3 p.m.

Oh, and don’t even think of celebrating the new year without a vaccination card for anyone over the age of 5.  (Will they be carding toddlers in strollers?)

Proving he didn’t want to be a total killjoy around the Holidays, de Blasio reminded residents of New York that they can still get a free $100 gift card if they get a Covid booster shot at any city-run vaccination spot before the official end of the year.
