YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast) still lives in his modest $320,000 home in North Carolina despite being ranked YouTube’s highest-earning creator by Forbes. In a not-so-modest move, Donaldson is buying up the entire surrounding neighborhood for his friends and family, and even his employees.

Over the years, he has purchased five homes in the area where he grew up outside of Greenville, North Carolina. Bought off-market, the standard suburban brick homes are located in one cul-de-sac.

MrBeast acquired one of the homes from Aaron Bowden last year. Bowden claimed that Donaldson informed him that he planned to move his family and childhood friends-turned-employees into the houses he was collecting. Donaldson is known for staying tight knit with those he grew up with, living near his buddies for years and even including them on his YouTube channel.

At only 24 years old, Donaldson’s attention-grabbing stunts have garnered hundreds of millions of views, making him one of the most watched creators on YouTube with 152 million subscribers. His early viral videos exhibited random feats like counting from 0 to 100,000 for 40 straight hours and reading every word in the dictionary.

More recently, he has garnered attention with footage of arbitrary acts of kindness like giving away money and paying for cataract eye surgery for 1,000 people, “curing” them of blindness.

His elaborate challenges and cash giveaways have helped him grow his channel to roughly 152 million subscribers, making him the most-subscribed individual and fourth most-subscribed channel overall. His monthly income is currently estimated at around $3 million.
