Mike Tyson is one of the keynote speakers at Valuetainment’s upcoming Vault conference starting August 30th. You can get your tickets here.

Patrick has a way of getting to the substance of things with his guests, so don’t expect Tyson to be any different. Here are a few interesting things about him that may very well be discussed when you see him live.

  1. Mike Tyson is a pigeon whisperer. He has a deep love for them and as a number living in his mansion, receiving constant care from the former Heavyweight champ. He has a whopping one thousand pigeons in his care, and spends $400,000 on their maintenance and well-being. He has adored pigeons since he was just 9, caring for them as an escape from bullies who taunted him for being overweight. In fact, it was a pigeon that inspired him to throw his first ever punch. “The guy ripped the head off my pigeon. This was the first thing I ever loved in my life, the pigeon. That was the first time I threw a punch. I have loved pigeons since I was nine. They were my escape.”
  2. Tyson is quite the accomplished actor. In addition to his famous and hilarious Hangover appearance, he has also done voices for Family Guy, played himself in Entourage, and even had a serious starring role in “Pharaoh’s War”. Don’t expect his film credits to slow down anytime soon.
  3. One of Tyson’s favorite movies is “The Notebook”, which is the only film that has made him cry. He’s talked about how love for the movie extensively on a number of interviews.
  4. He is a cannabis entrepreneur. Always known as a keen businessman, he says cannabis has turned his life around, and even helped him kick an opioid addiction. Even though his cannabis business is new, he is apparently earning up to half a million dollars a month from the business alone. He’s opening up a cannabis coffee shop in Amsterdam very soon.
  5. Tyson’s is a rap fan and has his opinions. He thinks Biggie is better than Tupac, while Nas is superior to Jay-Z.
  6. Tyson got his boxing start in rural upstate NY, in the Catskill mountains. He grew up in Brooklyn but was sent a troubled youth school, where he met Cus D’Amato, the man who would change it all. The gym he trained at there still stands to this day.
  7. Tyson endorsed Donald Trump for president, and even voted for him in 2020, which was the first ever election he voted in.

Clearly there’s a lot to chew on looking back at Tyson’s past experiences. You won’t want to miss his revealing and substantive conversation with PBD. See you there.
