A New York Post columnist alleges that there are plans underway for Michelle Obama to enter the 2024 presidential race this summer. As President Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to fall and Donald Trump continuously outperforms him in the polls, many observers—including prominent members of Congress—argue such a scenario is increasingly likely. Additionally, a poll from August found that a majority of Democrats would prefer Michelle over Joe.
The writer, New York City-based socialite and gossip columnist Cindy Adams, claims sources have told her that Obama has “polled donors” to gauge their reception of a campaign trail intervention. Apparently, there is a plan to have Biden announce in May that he is not running and have the former first lady take the nomination without a primary vote during the Democratic National Convention in August.
Until then, Biden will act nonchalant and tell the media he is determined to go up against Trump in November. Adams decided in fairness to also report rumors from the Biden White House that his campaign is “heating up.”
Adams additionally reported that the “No Labels” political faction is quietly waiting to process its own candidates, whom they will announce after March 15th.
In a different column, Adams claimed that Michelle Obama sent a survey to Democratic leaders asking how they would feel about her running. Additionally, she reports that in the summer of 2022, Michelle held a meeting in New York City with major hedge fund CEOs and told them, “I am running, and I am asking for your support.”
During an appearance on the Jay Shetty podcast in early January, Michelle remarked that she is “terrified” about the 2024 election:
“The war in the region—in too many regions, what’s AI going to do for us, the environment—are we moving at all fast enough, what are we doing about education, are people going to vote, and why aren’t people voting, are we too stuck to our phones. Those are the things that keep me up, because you don’t have control over them, and you wonder, where are we in this? Where are our hearts? What’s going to happen in this next election? I am terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter: who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit. It affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted.”

Texas Senator and former presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R) personally believes Michelle Obama is going enter the race in a “parachute” fashion and that Biden will be “jettisoned” before November. He also believes Barack Obama is the “puppet master” behind the Biden administration.
Cruz said this during a September episode of his podcast “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” specifically claiming the chances of a Michelle Obama run have “risen significantly” as Democrats are currently “nervous.”

“They’re at polling numbers that show two-thirds of Americans think he’s too old to be president. They’re getting nervous about all of the evidence of Biden corruption — you’ve got Hunter being indicted, you’ve got all the connections to Joe, and then what we’ve seen in recent weeks is the media is turning on them… I think that is the cutting edge of the Democrat intelligentsia saying we may have to cut bait and find someone new.”
