If you are a 14-year-old whiz kid graduating from college instead of the 8th grade, some company will hire you. Not every company, but at least one. In this case, the prodigy is a kid named Kairan Quazi, and the company is Starlink.

Quazi is unique in many ways, including the fact that he prefers LinkedIn over TikTok, and he announced his new opportunity on LinkedIn last week. “I will be joining the coolest company on the planet as a software engineer on the Starlink engineering team. One of the rare companies that did not use my age as an arbitrary and outdated proxy for maturity and ability.”

Already a Santa Clara University School of Engineering graduate, he set a record for being the youngest person ever to do so.  He and his mother plan on moving from the Bay Area to Seattle for this incredibly talented young man to start his career.

It was evident early that he was a genius. At the age of 9, his parents put him into community college.  His brain power was officially registered in the 99.9th percentile of the general population after he took an IQ test. By the age of 10, he was working as an intern as an AI research co-op fellow at Intel Labs. He started at Santa Clara when he was 11.

He didn’t play much Little League baseball, have many sleepovers with friends, or get proficient at Mine Craft. But Quazi doesn’t feel he missed much. Here is what he told ABC 7 Television in Los Angeles.

“I think there’s a conventional mindset that I’m missing out on childhood, but I don’t think that’s true. I think, again, that mindset would have me graduating middle school now.”

Elon Musk hired himself a star. He’s a 14-year-old man with a plan. “It is my dream to have a career tackling challenging issues and effecting radical innovation in service of the common good.”
