Las Vegas police arrested a man in connection to the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur Friday morning. Two unnamed officials brought the story to the media, without specifying what crimes the suspect, Duane “Keffe D” Davis, might be charged with.

The media is sure to pay close attention to the story, as it may reveal the answer to the long-awaited question of who participated in the drive-by shooting of the 25-year-old artist on the Las Vegas Strip nearly 30 years ago.

The officers were not permitted to divulge further information ahead of the indictment expected to occur later today, according to the Associated Press. This is a developing story.

Davis admitted in his 2019 memoir Compton Street Legend that he was in the Cadillac that carried out the shooting. Davis has long been known by investigators, and the arrest was likely made after compiling a mountain of evidence.
