Pop star Lady Gaga is in Rome working on a new movie, but the real drama in her life was taking place almost half a world away, near her home in West Hollywood, California.

Her dog walker, 30-year old Ryan Fischer, was reportedly shot four times in the chest by two assailants, who then stole a couple of Gaga’s three French Bulldogs at about 10:00 PM Wednesday night and got away.

The dog walker is going to be ok the way it sounds, as he was taken to a hospital and reports say he is recovering well.

KABC Television in Los Angeles showed Fischer lying on the sidewalk, desperately holding on to Gaga’s dog named Miss Asia. The other two dogs, Koji and Gustavo, were taken by the criminals.

TMZ reported that Lady Gaga is offering a $500,000 reward for the return of the two dogs taken with no questions asked.  She wouldn’t pursue charges.

Did the dognappers know these particular dogs were Gaga’s? That is unsure, but they probably knew that these dogs are highly sought out and sell from $1,500 to around $10,000.

LAPD confirmed the shooting to the New York Post but they said the investigation had not revealed if it was robbery that escalated or something else.

The two suspects apparently took off from the scene in a white vehicle.
