For years, comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan has made a point of rejecting requests for former President Donald Trump to sit down for an interview on the set of the Joe Rogan Experiencebut according to comments made during an episode with Patrick Bet-David, he might be on the verge of changing his mind.

Rogan, whose Spotify-exclusive show boasts more than 11 million subscribers, maintains that he is not a Trump supporter and has no interest in giving the former president a platform. “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form,” Rogan said on an episode of the Lex Fridman Podcast in 2022. “I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once, I’ve said no every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.” Later in that same episode, he called Trump “an existential threat to democracy itself.”

But at a Las Vegas UFC event in June, Rogan and Trump were spotted shaking hands and exchanging friendly conversation, leading some to think Rogan may be warming up to the man he once called “a man-baby.”

As Valuetainment reported previously, this prompted Trump ally Roger Stone to challenge Rogan to an MMA cage match in exchange for Trump getting a podcast invite.

That challenge has so far gone unanswered…but that doesn’t mean Rogan isn’t entertaining the idea of inviting Trump to his studio.

In the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan was joined by Patrick Bet-David for a lengthy discussion about politics, entrepreneurship, and the future of the nation. During that conversation, PBD asked the question everyone’s been thinking: will we finally get a Trump-Rogan podcast?

Shockingly, Rogan didn’t seem quite as opposed to it as he has in the past.

“At a certain point in time, like…it would be interesting to hear his perspective on a lot of things,” Rogan said. “I would like to know what it’s like when you actually get into office. What is it actually like when you get in that building?… What is the Deep State really like?…Because it’s very clear that it’s not as simple as elected representatives doing the will of the people.”

Probing the host further for his evolving thoughts on the former president, PBD asked about whether Rogan thinks Trump is misunderstood. “I think for sure they have distorted who he is, magnified his faults, and even said things that are absolutely not true, like the Russia collusion thing,” Rogan replied.

While he stopped short of making any kind of announcement about an upcoming episode with Trump, he certainly agreed with PBD on one thing: “it would break the internet if it happened!”
