Here’s something you don’t see in 2022 very often – a large company standing up for itself to easily offended employees. Netflix has done that, telling their entire staff that if they are offended by content the company is producing, specifically comedy, then it might be best if they find employment elsewhere.

Variety got a hold of the leaked memo titled “Netflix Culture – Seeking Excellence.”

Recently there was a staged walkout at Netflix headquarters after CEO Ted Sarandos decided Netflix would air Dave Chappelle’s special, even though part of his routine referenced the transgender community.

Here are some excerpts from the memo.

“As employees we support the principle that Netflix offers a diversity of stories, even if we find some titles counter to our own personal values,”

“Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful. If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you. Not everyone will like — or agree with — everything on our service.”

Netflix is in the midst of some rocky financial times. $50 billion in market cap has been lost this year.
