George Clooney has standards.  And apparently more money than he needs because he admitted this week that he turned down a $35 million check for one day’s work.

Yes, an airline wanted him to appear in a tv commercial, but after talking it over with his human rights lawyer wife Amal, he just said no to the opportunity.

Yes, the actor that couldn’t catch a break or get a gig when he was in his late 20’s, turned down a job that would have paid him $3 million dollars.  Per hour!

Why did George take a pass on such a lucrative offer?  He wasn’t entirely comfortable with the country that the airline is based in.  That’s it—the sole reason.

Here’s the explanation in George’s words.

“It was [associated with] a country that, although it’s an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought: ‘Well, if it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it.’”

“Questionable at times.”  That’s all it took for George to say, “thanks, but no thanks.”

More power to George. He’s busted his butt to get to this point in life, where he can make decisions like this.

And keep in mind, he didn’t just make a fortune from films; he, Rande Gerber, and Michael Meldman sold their Casamigos Tequila brand for $1 billion to Diageo.

Even at 60-years old, Clooney is killing it in life.
