Fox News producer Abby Grossman saw herself at the center of the Tucker Carlson firing drama. Even to this day, it’s hard to point to a specific instance that led to Carlson’s firings. Certainly there has been speculation, however. Was it his expressed skepticism of big pharmaceutical companies? Was it Fox News settling the Dominion lawsuit case, where the company said they were unfairly blamed for supposedly rigging the election? Or was it because of hostile work environment claims made by Grossman?

With a 12 million dollar payout announced Friday, Grossman might be the central culprit. Grossman worked for Carlson’s show and brought fourth a bevy of complaints. She said she was coached about her answers on the Dominion case when she was called in for a deposition. Instead of giving an honest take, she claimed Fox News coerced her to tell a more favorable story. She also said that another key TV personality she worked with, Maria Bartiromo, made the working environment hostile and sexist.

Grossman, after dropping the two separate lawsuits in favor of the payout, seemed to find some resolve. “I am heartened that Fox News has taken me and my legal claims seriously. I am hopeful, based on our discussions with Fox News today, that this resolution represents a positive step by the network regarding its treatment of women and minorities in the workplace.”
