Tragic news circulated as four people were found shot inside an RV in a small Mojave Desert community late Sunday night. The victims included three women and one man, according to a statement made by authorities on Monday.

According to a statement released by Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived and found the victims with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Three of them died on the scene while one woman was pronounced dead at a hospital. The victim’s family members were notified as soon as they were identified.

No immediate arrests have been made, but two people were pursued and brought in for questioning as “persons of interest.”

“Detectives are pursuing all investigative leads to identify and arrest the suspect(s) responsible for this crime,” the office said.

According to KGET news, these homicides were the latest of mass killings in the United States including three in California this year. Six people were left in the Goshen massacre during Lunar New Year celebration, and the Monterey Park shooting left 11 people after a gunman opened fire on two farms in Half Moon Bay, resulting in seven people dead.

Mojave has a population of 3,600 and lies along an important rail line at an intersection of two state highways on the western side of the Mojave Desert about 70 miles north of Los Angeles.

Anyone with information on the killings in Mojave is asked to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or Kern Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
