The city of San Francisco is an urban disaster.  Crime is rampant. Tourists are scared to death to walk outside hotels at night, even if they are just heading to dinner or their car. Drug use is rampant on the streets, a disgusting odor permeates the air in some parts of town, and if someone pays for items at some Walgreens and CVS stores in the City, it is a rare sight. Yet what is the city busy investigating with more fervor than almost anything else? The giant “X” signs were installed Friday on top of the downtown high-rise that used to be known as Twitter headquarters.

City officials say replacing letters or symbols on buildings requires a permit for safety purposes. The city is all of a sudden concerned with safety.

Here’s a statement from Patrick Hannah, spokesperson for the Department of Building Inspection, told the Associated Press.  “Planning review and approval is also necessary for the installation of this sign. The city is opening a complaint and initiating an investigation.”

Elon Musk might think he is being picked on if this continues.  He’s been an outspoken critic of San Francisco, disgusted by what he has seen from this once-great city. Progressive politics has turned it into a dangerous shell of the world-class destination it used to be. On Monday, San Francisco police took a break from ignoring real crimes occurring all over the city to stop workers from taking down the brand’s iconic bird and logo from the side of the building.
