Good golly, Dolly!

How can you not love Dolly Parton? You can’t; just ask Jeff Bezos.

The Amazon chairman and second richest person in the world was awarded Dolly a $100 million prize for her to dole out to charities however she sees fit. It’s part of the Bezos Courage and Civility award, which recognizes “leaders who aim high, find solutions, and who always do it with civility,” according to Bezos.

JB said, “The woman you’re about to meet embodies these ideals so thoroughly; she gives with her heart. What she’s done for kids, literacy, and so many other things is just incredible.”

It will be interesting to see what the country music star does with that massive pile of cash. Two years ago, she donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University, and the money went into the eventual creation of Moderna’s covid vaccine.

One thing the new inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has is a big heart for people in need. Six years ago, she donated $1,000 per month to families impacted by Tennessee wildfires.

There is no question that Dolly is a boss in business. According to Forbes, her net worth is close to $400 million.

Fascinating fact about Dolly alert. She wrote the song “I Will Always Love You,” which several stars have recorded and turned into hits, including Whitney Houston.

The person who loved that song more than anyone was Elvis — and he tried and tried to purchase the song from Dolly. She always refused and could make a fortune licensing the song to those who wanted to use it.

As For Bezos, he’s now vowed to give away his entire fortune, or almost all of it, to charity. He and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez told CNN that they are down for giving billions to environmental causes and supporting people who could unify humanity.
