Variety came out with a long article detailing research they did on Don Lemon’s career. In addition to being unpleasant to work with, many of his female colleagues reported either sexism is bizarre behavior involving threats and intimidations.

The first incident, back in 2008, is when Lemon was a relatively fresh anchor for CNN. His co-anchor got chosen to report from Iraq, something which inspired envy. Lemon, through a burner phone, texted her saying, “now you’ve crossed the line, and you’re going to pay for it.” An internal investigation traced the messages back to Lemon, and he was busted.

Lemon also flaunted the office dating rule, dating a man twenty years his junior with whom Lemon was a superior of. Despite the rules, he’d publicly show up with his partner, as if the policies didn’t apply to him.

He also called a female producer flat to her face. Soledad O’Brien got pissed when she got chosen to host a doc on black history. He said, in a meeting with a number of employees, that O’Brien wasn’t even really black.

This comes as Lemon deals with a historic ratings low on his new CNN timeslot.
