Imagine being so rich that the only major decision facing you each week is where to drop off a big sack of cash.

That’s what it seems life is like for MacKenzie Scott, aka Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, who took home a $38 billion fortune when she and Bezos split and vowed to give it all away.

And by “give it all away,” I mean every single cent. The latest recipient is the Girl Scouts of the USA, who can now afford to move their camping trips to the Paris Four Seasons after Scott’s $84.5 million gift.

Let’s go to the scoreboard; while Jeff jets around the world with his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez on his arm, Scott has dished out $12.8 billion in two years.  That is an average of over $100 million per handout.

Her Girl Scout donation goes to the national chapter and 29 local councils that Scott picked herself. Could you imagine being one of the councils around the country that didn’t get her free cash?

The Girl Scouts do not plan on giving the cookies away for free after the gift. Instead, they will use the money to “create more equitable membership opportunities in communities that have been under-engaged” and “foster meaningful program innovation informed by the current interests and needs of girls to prepare them for leadership, including an expanded focus on career readiness and mental wellness.”

Wow. That’s a lot of words. Hopefully, the Caramel deLites | Samoas will still be available during the annual sale.

Last year Scott gave away $2.7 billion. She handed out almost $6 billion in 2020. There are two and a half months left in 2022, and she’s still worth $33.6 billion, so it’s a safe bet that many other needy organizations will get the surprise of their life yet this year.
