The four men were aviation technicians with the UN-backed Gang Suppression Force in Haiti. Gangs attacked their armored vehicle on October 18 in Croix-des-Bouquets. Bukele has called them hostages and vowed to bring them home unharmed. When a group handed over four burned bodies and said they were the missing men, Bukele rejected the claim, saying the remains included a child and a body in another country’s uniform.
