Forget all those fancy dance focus groups and accumulation of market research — a Kentucky BBQ restaurant owner knows a thing or two about societal issues.

His name is Guy Cummins, his joint is called Smokin’ This, and he noticed that customers verbally accosted people drinking Bud Light in his bar when the controversy erupted.
What controversy, you say? The one where transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney posted something on social media promoting Bud Light and partnering with the bee company.

That launched a protest by many, including Kid Rock and Kari Lake of Arizona supporters.

Cummins posted on his Facebook page that he would not serve Budweiser or Budweiser Light “due to inappropriate labels.”

His post has been taken down, and of course, he took heat on social media, being called a transphobic by the social mob with other better to do, but he told Newsweek that he was trying to protect his customers.

“A few days ago, I noticed a person got Bud Light, and the other patrons were making fun of them,” Cummins said. “If it’s going to cause a problem, why have it? I’m protective of the people coming in here.”

  • We’re not carrying AB products and I’m not afraid of anyone, let the name calling begin. Words can’t hurt you ever but especially if their definition doesn’t apply to you.
