Empty store shelves are the norm at big box retailers, neighborhood grocers, and everything in between, and frustrated and ticked off shoppers have had enough.

On Thursday, the hashtag #EmptyShelvesJoe” was trending.

This comes a day after Biden announced that the ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach would operate 24-hours a day to try to bring relief to the incredible supply chain problems the US is facing.

Keep in mind, this supply chain problem has been going on for months, and Biden finally got around to acting on it this week. There are literally dozens of cargo ships just drifting and killing time in the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, waiting to be allowed to unload their goods.

Politico reported this week that as the global shipping crisis kicked into high gear this summer, Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg went on paternity leave in August and September.  He and his husband Chasten had just adopted twins, and he plans on taking more time off in the coming weeks to help take care of the children.
