Caan’s cause of death has not been revealed.

Caan’s manager, Matt Del Piano, confirmed Caan’s death

“Jimmy was one of the greatest,” Del Piano said in a statement. “Not only was he one of the best actors our business has ever seen, he was funny, loyal, caring and beloved. Our relationship was always friendship before business.”

“I will miss him dearly and am proud to have worked with him all these years. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family during this difficult time.”

Caan’s cause of death was not revealed.

His family also released a statement via Twitter saying the following:

Caan was the son of German-Jewish immigrants and grew up in the Bronx, eventually becoming one of Hollywood’s most incredible actors of his era.

The actor stayed busy working until the end of his life, performing various roles including appearances on The Simpsons and Family Guy. 

He is most known for his performances in The Godfather, Misery, Thief, and Elf.

No further details have been shared regarding his passing.
