Over 2 million Cosori brand air fryers are recalled after over 200 reports came in claiming that the air fryers have caught fire, burned, melted, overheated and smoked upon use. The incidents have resulted in injuries and property damage.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Thursday, urging customers to stop using the products immediately due to a wire connection prone to overheating.

After raising concerns of the fryers catching fire, burning or injuring consumers, Atekcity, the corporation that owns Cosori, announced the immediate product recall.

According to a statement from Cosori, “After a thorough investigation, we determined that in extremely rare circumstances, the closed-end crimp connectors within the recalled air fryers — which are responsible for establishing electrical connections between certain wires — can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.”

Cosori has sold roughly two million air fryer units in multiple models and sizes throughout the United States, 250,000 units in Canada, and over 21,000 units in Mexico.

Retailers such as Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, Home Depot, Home Goods, Kohls, Lowes, Macy’s, QVC, Staples, Target, Walmart, Wayfair and more. Most stores have also sold the Cosori brand since June 2018.

The affected units include the 3.7-quart and 5.8-quart sizes and were sold in black, gray, white, blue or red.

The following model numbers have been recalled:

CP158-AF, CP158-AF-R19, CP158-AF-RXW, CP158-AF-RXR, CAF-P581-BUSR, CAF-P581-AUSR, CAF-P581-RUSR, CP137-AF, CP137-AF-RXB, CP137-AF-RXR, CP137-AF-RXW, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-RXB, CS158-AF-R19, CAF-P581S-BUSR, CAF-P581S-RUSR, CAF-P581S-AUSR, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CO158-AF-RXB and CP258-AF.
