U.S. long jumper and sprinter, Tori Bowie was found dead in her Florida home and the cause of death has not been released, according to her agent, Kimberly Holland. She was a three-time Olympic medalist and a two-time world champion in track and field.
“We’re devasted [sic] to share the very sad news that Tori Bowie has passed away,” an Instagram post read from Icon Management who represented the track star.
The post added: “As the story continues to develop, we ask that you please respect our privacy.”
USA Track and Field also took to social media saying the organization was “deeply saddened” to learn of Bowie’s passing, citing that her “impact on the sport immeasurable.”

A Sandhill, Mississippi native, Bowie attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a three-time All-American. She went on to win three medals at the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics placing first in the 4x100m relay, second in the 100m dash, and third in the 200m race. Bowie also took the gold in both the 100m and 4x100m at the 2017 world championships.
Not even one year ago, June 2022 marked her last official competition.
