FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is charged with some serious crimes, including wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Still, his family is reportedly pushing his need for vegan meals.

Bankman-Fried is in prison in the Bahamas after being denied a $250,000 bail. During Tuesday’s bail hearing, Bankman-Fried’s attorney argued his client was not a flight risk because he owned property in the Bahamas. The lawyer also requested his client be released on bail because of his strict vegan diet and his need to take several medications, including Adderall. The Bahamian Magistrate Judge denied the lawyer’s request, and today the FTX founder sits in what is considered the Bahamas’ most notorious jail.

What is it like inside the Fox Hill correctional facility where the once crypto-billionaire is forced to stay? Well, we know his meals are likely sickening for him. Reports say family members have called the jail requesting he is given vegan meals, but, likely, that will not happen. Bloomberg reports facility is known for being infested with rodents and maggots. The site is so disturbing reports say a warden once described the jail as “not fit for humanity.” Instead of a lovely mansion with indoor plumbing, Bankman-Fried is likely using a bucket as a toilet. According to Insider, inmates have to remove human waste from a bucket.

Of course, the victims who lost millions because of Bankman-Fried likely feel no sympathy for him. The FTX founder will have to stay in the notorious jail until his extradition hearing on Feb. 8th.
