One stat stopped us cold: 70% of Gen Z are reportedly more afraid of running out of money than of dying. So what’s driving it?

We brought in Nick Shirley, Will Witt, CJ Pearson and Emily Wilson to talk about what’s really on young Americans’ minds going into 2027. CJ Pearson argues the core problem is ownership. Gen Z doesn’t own homes, property or stocks, so when people point to a strong stock market, it means nothing to them. His fixes: deregulation to increase the housing supply, and financial literacy in schools, which he says is left out on purpose.

Emily Wilson describes life in Los Angeles, where she and her friends feel they’d need to be multi-millionaires just to buy a one-bedroom condo. The panel also gets into immigration, crime, falling public school enrollment, and how political division has become personal for young conservatives.
