Food is cellular information

The foods we eat deliver information to our cells which helps prevent disease, cancer, chronic illness, and all sorts of health problems.

From mental illness to physical ailments, the food we consume has the power to create detrimental problems for our health.

For proper cell function, our cells need to be able to convert mRNA into proteins.

Why does this matter?

Our bodies won’t be able to do this if we don’t have the 20 essential amino acids, which we can only get from food.

Therefore, if we are consuming processed foods that don’t deliver the proper nutrition to our bodies, at some point or another, we are bound to develop serious diseases and a very weak immune system.

For proper cell function, our bodies need a supply of all 20 amino acids.

A balanced diet is necessary to ensure that we have an adequate supply of all the essential amino acids.

Vegetarians must be especially careful when planning meals because some plants contain low levels of certain essential amino acids. Vegetarians and vegans (who don’t eat animal or dairy products) must choose the right protein sources to ensure that their diet contains all the essential amino acids.

7 Foods that Prevent Cancer

Rest assured, cancer can be prevented if we eat REAL foods and eliminate processed junk foods that damage our health.

1. Apples

An apple a day really does keep the doctor away!

Apples contain polyphenols which have been proven to have anticancer properties. They also fight against tumors.

Polyphenols are plant-based compounds that prevent inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and infections.

As an example, the polyphenol phloretin inhibits a protein called glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) which plays a role in advanced-stage cell growth in certain types of cancer.

One study from 2018 in the Journal of Food and Drug Analysis suggests that apple phloretin significantly inhibits the growth of breast cancer cells, while not affecting normal cells.

2. Berries

Reduce inflammation with strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, or blueberries.

Add strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries to yogurt, oatmeal, and smoothies for a healthy boost.

Berries are rich in vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibers. They have antioxidant properties and many benefits for our mind and body.

One study proves that anthocyanin a compound in blackberries, lowers biomarkers for colon cancer.

Another study demonstrates blueberries can prevent the growth of breast cancer tumors in mice due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

3. Fish

Fatty fish, including salmon, mackerel, and anchovies, are rich in essential nutrients, such as vitamin B, potassium, and omega-3 fatty acids.

White fish is also very healthy and rich in antioxidants. European sea bass (branzino), is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and the antioxidant selenium. 100 g of wild, line-caught sea bass has 226 IU (56.5% of daily recommended intake) of vitamin-D.

One study found that diets high in fish had a 53% lower risk for colorectal cancer than diets low in fish.

Another study found that consumption of fish oil later in life has links to significantly lower risk for prostate cancer.

Finally, a study following 68,109 people found that people who consumed fish oil supplements at least four times a week were 63%  less likely to develop colon cancer than those who did not.

4. Legumes

Legumes, such as beans, peas, and lentils, are high in fiber, which help lower a person’s risk of developing cancer.

One analysis of 14 studies shows an association between higher legume consumption and lower risk of colorectal cancer.

Another study found that people who ate diets high in bean fiber were 20% less likely to develop breast cancer than those who did not meet their daily fiber intake.

5. Cruciferous vegetables

Cruciferous vegetables contain sulforaphane, a plant compound with anti-cancer properties.

Enjoy broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and kale as a delicious side dish that contains many nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin K, and manganese.

One study shows that sulforaphane significantly inhibits cancer cell growth and stimulates cell death in colon cancer cells.

Another study shows that sulforaphane in combination with genistein, a compound in soybeans, can significantly inhibit breast cancer tumor development and size. Sulforaphane also inhibits histone deacetylase, an enzyme with links to cancer development.

One review recommends 3 to 5 servingsTrusted Source of cruciferous vegetables per week for the best cancer-preventive effects.

6. Nuts

Nuts have anti-cancer properties according to the American Institute for Cancer Research.

Walnuts contain a substance called pedunculagin, which the body metabolizes into urolithins. Urolithins are compounds that bind to estrogen receptors and may play a role in preventing breast cancer.

In one animal study mice receiving whole walnuts and walnut oil had higher levels of tumor-suppressing genes than the mice receiving vegetable oil.

7. Olive Oil

Olive oil is medicine in a bottle.

It’s so good for you, that some people even take a tablespoon a day because it’s rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

It contains antioxidant compounds called oleocanthal and oleuropein. These have anti-inflammatory effects and prevent LDL (bad) cholesterol from oxidizing.

Olive oil is rich in vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant.

Olive oil Omega 3swhich offer protection against the development of cancer most associated with excessive omega-6 consumption.

Research has found a direct correlation between cancers and diseases and the consumption of vegetable oils such as:

Soybean oil.
Canola oil.
Corn oil.
Cottonseed oil.
Sunflower oil.
Peanut oil.
Sesame oil.
Rice bran oil.

These oils all have one thing in common:

They are rich in omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).

“Excess omega-6 fatty acids seem to increase the risk of breast cancer metastasis, while omega-3 fatty acids have the opposite action. Thus the omega-3/omega-6 fatty acid ratio is of prime importance.” (Bourre 2007)

Instead of tequila shots, try some olive oil shots for a change! 😉
