What Makes a Great Leader?

Patrick Bet-David knows a thing or two about exceptional leadership! 😉

1. They Crystalize Their Goals.

How can a leader lead, if they don’t even know where they’re going?!

Without goals, you are wandering aimlessly. A great leader will establish their goals and get clear on what it is they want. Whether this be for their career or personal life, a great leader knows the importance of setting goals along the way until they’ve achieved whatever it is they’ve set their mind to.

Never give up and build resilience.

Always consider whether your daily habits and actions are bringing you closer or farther from the goal you’re hoping to achieve.

2. Great leaders are SELF-LESS.

You reap what you sow.

The best leaders know that in order to be successful, they must be willing to serve others before they are served.  What you put out will come back four-fold.

Give to others, and they most certainly will give in return. If they don’t now you know who you don’t need to waste your time with.

3. They Don’t Get EMOTIONAL.

Those who want to WIN are willing to do whatever it takes.

The most successful leaders never get emotional when it comes to business or self-improvement.

They don’t take things personally, especially when it comes to feedback.

A leader’s number one priority is thinking about ways they can make changes to improve themselves, their business, and their future.

Everybody has something they need to improve, and the best leaders will be the first to admit their flaws.

4. The Importance of Self-Reflection.

A great leader isn’t afraid to admit their own mistakes and weaknesses.

They will always take the time to sit down and think about what it is they do wrong and could do better. There is always room to improve and innovate.

At the end of each day, take 30 minutes to reflect and process your day.

Questions to Ask Yourself:

What went wrong? What went well? Why did it work out this way? Who helped me achieve my goals for today? What got in my way? What bothered me and why? Is my own ego getting in the way of my success? What can I do to improve?

5. They Value Relationships.

A great leader understands the importance of cultivating great relationships with others.

They always show genuine appreciation and support to their team and companions and avoid burning bridges and creating enemies.

A leader will always do their best to “keep the peace” and simmer down a conflict.

6. The Importance of Exceptional Communication.

A great leader is consistent in the way they operate and transparent with their intentions.

When it comes to business, it’s critical that a team is on the same page on a brand’s values, ethics, and goals.

Every person thinks differently. To be a great communicator, a leader will need to find the most effective ways to communicate with different types of people from all walks of life.
