Leaders are Readers. You will hear me say this a lot because it is true. If you are a true leader you will want to grow and develop yourself and the best way to do that is by reading. There are so many great minds out there and you have an opportunity to be mentored by them! If you don’t get fired up at the thought of that then I guess you are not as nerdy as I am when it comes to that kind of stuff and that’s ok. If you are looking to make an immediate impact on your leadership here are three books I suggest you get today.

  1. Legacy- by James Kerr- James takes you through 15 lessons that he learned while studying the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team. The All Blacks have been dubbed a couple of times as the number one team in the history of all sports in the history of the world. Character, Purpose, Responsibility, Preparation are just a couple of the chapters in this book that will help you establish the culture you want in your organization.
  2. A New Kind of Diversity- Tim Elmore- Partly due to our current economic issues we are currently in the most generationally diverse workplace our country has ever been in. Tim takes you through how to understand the different generations and how you can maximize what each of your people bring to the table and leverage it for success.
  3. Unreasonable Hospitality- Will Guidara- Taking a 3 star New York restaurant to number one in the world is no easy task. Will intimately brings you inside of the process they used to do just that.  This book by far has been one of the best leadership books I have read in a long time.

That should be a great start for those of you who are looking to grow and become more successful. Connect with me and let me know what you think about those books.  I promise you won’t be disappointed. Be Courageous. Be the leader God has created you to be.  Until next time…Keep growing…Keep Learning…Keep Leading.
