The annual Met Gala, also known as the Costume Institute Benefit, is one of the most highly anticipated events in the fashion calendar. It’s safe to say it’s highly anticipated for the Hollywood elitists more than anyone else.

Hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the fundraising gala brings together a star-studded guest list of celebrities, fashion icons and industry insiders to celebrate the opening of the museum’s fashion exhibit.

While the event is famous for its glamorous red carpet and extravagant fashion choices, the Met Gala serves as a means to raise funds for the Costume Institute, which is responsible for collecting, preserving and showcasing fashion history.

Although the fashion choices walking on this carpet are known to be extreme and radical, each ticket is worth roughly $30,000. Imagine this kind of event with this caliber of celebrity raising funds to help the homeless or fund something that doesn’t already have millions of dollars behind it. Wouldn’t that be life-changing?

The Met Gala’s theme changes every year, inspiring guests to dress up and showcase their interpretation of the theme. The event serves as a platform for designers and brands to showcase their creativity and push the boundaries of fashion. It also highlights the intersection of fashion, art and culture.
