Allen West is a prominent American politician who has been active in public service for several decades.

Born on February 7, 1961, in Georgia, West grew up in a military family and eventually joined the United States Army, himself. He served for over 20 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and earning numerous commendations for his service, including a Bronze Star.

After retiring from the military, West became involved in politics and was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2010, representing Florida’s 22nd congressional district.

During his time in Congress, West was known for his conservative views and outspokenness on a range of issues including national security, immigration and fiscal policy.

He was a member of the Tea Party movement and often clashed with members of the Democratic Party over his stances.

Despite being a controversial figure, West gained a loyal following among conservative voters and was reelected in 2012. However, in 2013, he announced that he would not seek reelection, citing his desire to focus on other endeavors.

Since leaving Congress, West has remained active in politics and has been a frequent commentator on cable news networks.

Throughout his career, West has been a polarizing figure, with his supporters lauding him as a principled conservative and his detractors criticizing him for his incendiary rhetoric and controversial views.

Regardless of one’s opinion of him, however, it’s clear that Allen West has had a significant impact on American politics and will remain a prominent figure in conservative circles for years to come.
