Imagine ordering a McDonald’s combo meal and then waiting in the drive-thru at what seems to be a busy location. Finally, what you think is your order is handed to you, and you drive. You reach in for a French fry and see thousands of dollars instead. Are you going back to drive back to McDonald’s, or are you heading to the bank to deposit it?
One man is claiming a similar situation recently happened to him. He claims he took the money back and documented it on TikTok. Is he telling the truth, or was this staged? Here are the facts for you to determine if this really happened.

Josiah Vargas claims he ordered a sausage McMuffin while at an Indiana McDonald’s. Vargas says he was then handed his McMuffin and a bag of cash. Vargas quickly realized he was mistakenly given the fast food restaurant’s deposits. He then posted his reaction on TikTok. In the social media post, Vargas seems shocked and indecisive. He constantly went back and forth with himself about whether or not to return the money. Eventually, Vargas decided to return the money. He went inside, and when he handed employees the moment, they all sighed a sigh of relief. After repeatedly thanking Vargas, he left. While it wasn’t shown on camera, Vargas said he was promised free McDonald’s for a month and a reward of $200.
Many people flooded the comments saying they would not have given the money back, even though Vargas likely saved someone from being fired. Does being a good person pay off? Would you have kept the money? Comment down below.
