Over the weekend, NATO’s allegiance to Ukraine in the war with Russia reached new heights, approving the transfer of F-16s.

However, Ukraine suggests it’s not enough.

Denmark and the Netherlands have both committed to giving Ukraine F-15 fighter jets from their arsenals over the weekend. According to Breitbart, Amsterdam promised aircraft as well but without any specificities as to what type of aircraft or an approximate timeline on deliveries. The Ukrainians announced they were to get the nation’s entire stock of aircraft — 42 airframes.

Apparently, reports claim these deliveries may be a bit ‘too little, too late,’ since Russian jets have reportedly set fire to half-metric ton bombs from afar, outside of Ukraine’s defensive reach. CNN reported Ukraine’s claim of needing F-16s urgently is because Ukrainian troops are dying daily because of “Russian air superiority.”

Advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Presidential Office Mykhailo Podolyak painted a pretty picture of every country transferring aviation equipment to Ukraine as a display of democracy and international law protections — and justice.

He strategically articulated his praises toward the Netherlands and Denmark on Tuesday, “illustrating their commitment to the country and international order” but also calling for other nations to send jets to Ukraine as well.

Podolyak added: “All of this is possible only if [Russia] is absolutely defeated. It is extremely important that Ukraine’s other coalition partners make similar decisions.”

Back in May, Ukraine had already received roughly $37 billion in military aid from the United States and yet, deputy head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Melnyk suggested Ukraine’s allies “pledge one percent of their [GDP] to the attacked country.”
