BRICS is the acronym which associates the world’s 5 major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The BRICS members are known for their significant influence on world affairs.

The governments of the BRICS states have met annually at formal summits since 2009.

China hosted the most recent 14th BRICS summit on June 24, 2022, virtually.

The president of the BRICS International Forum expects said, “All these countries have shown an interest in joining and are preparing to apply for membership. I think this is a good step because expansion is always perceived positively.

“This will clearly increase the influence of BRICS in the world.”

“I hope that the accession of countries to BRICS will happen very quickly, because now all representatives of the core of the association are interested in expanding the organization, so it will be very soon.”

The President of the BRICS International Forum is confident that the accession of Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia would advance quickly, since these countries have already “begun the process.” However, she reported that the accession would not happen all at once.

Most Recently, Argentina Announced They Will Join BRICS

Argentina’s government said on Thursday it had received China’s formal support for the country’s bid to join the BRICS group comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, a coalition seen as a powerful emerging-market alternative to the West.

Argentina’s foreign minister Santiago Cafiero met with his Chinese counter Wang Yi at a G20 event in Indonesia, where that support was formalized, the ministry said in a statement. Argentina is a major exporter of soy, wheat and corn.

Dutch Farmers are preparing water cannons to battle the World Economic Forum and United Nations police.

Farmers say the protests are not intended to anger their fellow citizens and consumers, but to force the government into a referendum.

The Dutch government laid out targets for reducing nitrogen pollution in some areas by up to 70% by2030 in an attempt to solve a problem that has supposedly plagued the country for years.

Farmers in the Netherlands have formed their own version of Canada’s “Freedom Convoy,” blocking highways with tractors, setting bales of hay on fire, and taking other measures to protest the government’s recent goal to cut emissions that could force some farms to shutter.
