In this video, Patrick Bet-David tells a personal story of his son Dylan losing his championship soccer game and the advice he gave to him afterward. This advice is part of the winner’s mindset that helps overcome public losses and can be applied to any part of life.

PBD talks about the concept of being a playmaker. Rather than shouting, “I’m open, I’m open,” you need to go above and beyond for the player with the ball to pass it to you.

“Employees in a company will wait till somebody tells them what to do. You know what they are? They’re like the guy that’s just waiting for somebody to give them a pass to make a shot. They’re not going to move up in any company. And by the way, they can go from company to another company to another company to another company, bitch about the previous company, and they’ll go five companies, 10 companies, 20 companies, thinking it’s the company—you’re not a playmaker! Playmakers always move up.”

PBD listed five “playmaker” values that will guarantee you can keep a job with him or a CEO like him. These are:

  1. Great Attitude
  2. Effort
  3. Team player
  4. Constantly Innovative
  5. You provide results
