Actor and WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who enthusiastically endorsed President Joe Biden’s campaign in 2020, now regrets that decision and is declining to throw his support behind Biden’s reelection bid in 2024.
According to Johnson, while the 2020 endorsement was “the best decision for me at that time,” the current state of the country has led him to reconsider his stance—because apparently Biden no longer smells what the Rock is cookin’.
“Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well, that answer is no,” Johnson told Fox & Friends host Will Cain on Friday morning. “Do I believe we’re going to get better? I believe in that. I’m an optimistic guy.”
“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one that I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” he added. “And I thought back then … ‘Hey, I’m in this position where I have some influence,’ … and I felt like that then it’s my job to exercise my influence and share with [people] this is who I’m going to endorse. Am I going to do that again this year? That answer is no.”

During the 2020 election cycle, Johnson, a self-described “independent and centrist,” happily endorsed the Biden-Harris ticket, calling the two Democrats “the best to lead our country” in his first-ever political endorsement.
The Rock then joined the candidates in a video call, where he complimented Biden for his “great compassion, heart, and drive.”
Thank you @TheRock for your support at this critical moment for our nation.
You said it best: This election is about earning the respect of the American people. It’s about decency. It’s about electing leaders who tell the truth.

Elsewhere in the Fox & Friends interview, Johnson also addressed the subject of cancel culture, denouncing “woke culture [and] that culture division” for preventing people from being real and honest.
“You either succumb and be what you think other people want you to be, or you go, ‘No, that’s not who I am. I’m going to be myself and I’m going to be real,’” he said. “If you ask me something, a real answer is important, and the truthful answer is important, and that may get people upset and may p—– people off. And that’s okay.”
