It’s the new power flex for high-profile CEOs, and it has nothing to do with buying a new megayacht, custom-built Gulfstream, or being chaffered around in a Maybach.

Oh, the CEOs want that too; let’s not be stupid, but the latest fad is looking fab, with washboard abs, bulging biceps, and maybe even a nice overall tan.

According to a story in the Washington Post, it’s all about posing shirtless for the cameras these days.

It started with Jeff Bezos, the self-described nerd who spent two-and-a-half decades wearing oversized khakis and a non-fitted long sleeve shirt whose appearance now seems to have turned into a cross between a Navy Seal and Secret Service agent.

Why? Well, having a beautiful and exciting new girlfriend is no doubt part or most of the motivation, and there’s no question the buffed Bezos looks good.

Ari Emanuel, the CEO of William Morris, was recently photographed on Elon Musk’s yacht, looking like he’s ready to compete in the Cross Fit games.

The WaPo story referenced big-time manager Scooter Braun flexing in an ice tub and the CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov, posing with his shirt off in an infinity pool.

Have you watched the hit show “Selling Sunset” on Netflix? It features uber-successful real estate broker Jason Oppenheim and his team of agents.  Oppenheimer is always dialed in with a custom-fit suit and a toned body that looks like his body fat matches the current mortgage interest rates.

Here’s what he told the Washington Post.

“I don’t really believe in celebrating Dad Bod or any lack of fitness. I would almost have to question someone’s drive and intelligence, and ambition if they completely ignore mental and physical health.”

Elon Musk even got the hint recently.  Nobody has ever questioned his drive or intelligence, but being seen on that both with Emanuel forced him to drop 20 pounds and get into better shape.
