Researchers believe the effects of overusing technology will affect the future appearance of the human body through evolution.

Imagine staring in the mirror and looking back at yourself as a person with claw-like hands, a hunched back, and an extra eyelid. According to StudyFinds, researchers believe those will be the new physical features of humans. So how was the prediction created?

The study is inspired by a poll suggesting the average person spends 7 hours daily on the internet.

Researchers used a 3D designer to create images of what the “future human” will look like with all the problems overuse of technology may cause. They named the 3D “future human” Mindy.

The research project was conducted by the company TollFreeForwarding.

One physical feature of Mindy is her hunchbacked. The prediction is long hours of office work, and craning of the neck to look at cell phones could cause all humans to have a hunch back.

The study suggests humans may also evolve into having what is called “text claw” and elbow problems. Excessive cellphone use is believed to be what causes “text claw .”The 3D human model shows Mindy’s hand shaped like a claw. Future humans’ elbows may also permanently sit at a 90-degree angle.

If that isn’t creepy enough, the Mindy model suggests humans will develop into having a second eyelid. Surprisingly, during the research project, Mindy developed a double eyelid. Researchers predict the extra eyelid will be a defense against too much blue light from digital devices.

Last, the Mindy model suggests humans will have a tech neck and a thicker skull. The tech neck is believed to come from an extra growth of muscles to protect the human body from poor posture. The thicker skull could protect against damaging radiofrequency waves caused by smartphones.

While these are predictions, and you will likely not be around for this evolution, taking a digital break may be a good idea.
