One cannot deny the fact that there is serious spiritual warfare in the United States. When one eliminates the core foundation of love, of good and of truth, a person makes room for moral confusion. This has been the debate in the last few years – is the dismissal of God causing mental and emotional chaos in our society?

One can easily agree with the spiritual warfare statement after what occurred this past weekend in Boston, Massachusetts. The Satanic Temple (TST) claimed that its second Satan Con convention was sold out and promoted as “a weekend of blasphemy and remembrance in Boston” to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

A group of Satanists cheered as two leaders ripped through Bible pages and a “Thin Blue Line” flag representing police officers, during Friday’s ceremony. The female leader was aiming to renounce “symbols of oppression.”

“We stand here today in defiance of their siege and destroy their symbols of oppression,” the female leader told the crowd before ripping Bible pages and throwing them on the floor.

Those who attended the conference later picked up the pages torn and posed with them for pictures.

“We must build true community outside of the virtual,” the male leader also said before taking a hammer to a keyboard. “Rebelling comes in many forms to each and their own within their own capabilities and their own situation. For some of us, merely existing one more day is victory, but for those of us who can, we must stand up for those who cannot.”

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston called for “intense prayer” in response to the event. They advised Catholic to avoid engaging with the Satanists at the event stating in a press release, “We ask Catholics not to organize or encourage others to go to the event to protest. It will only make it more prominent and give the organizers the attention they seek.”

The archdiocese continued, “Rather than protesting in person, we hope to storm the Heavens with prayer from our shrines, monasteries, and parishes.”

TST claims the convention was the “largest Satanic gathering in history,” with its Boston-area membership of 2,449 people.
