SpaceX confirmed that the upper stage experienced a ‘rapid unscheduled disassembly’ due to multiple engine shutdowns, leading to an uncontrolled spin and loss of contact.

Debris from the explosion was seen falling over Florida and the Bahamas, prompting air traffic controllers to reroute planes in the area.

Despite these setbacks, SpaceX emphasized its commitment to learning from each flight, stating that every mission provides valuable lessons for improving the Starship’s reliability.

The Federal Aviation Administration is coordinating with SpaceX regarding the aftermath of the incident.
