Grammy Award-winning singer Tori Kelly was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after doctors discovered blood clots surrounding several of her vital organs.

The 30-year-old passed out after her heart started beating faster than usual while at dinner with friends in downtown Los Angeles, causing the singer to faint suddenly. Friends then rushed her to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where she was reportedly in and out of consciousness during her hospitalization in the ICU.

Doctors found multiple blood clots near her vital organs, and are working to determine if her heart is in danger, according to ABC News.

ABC News Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton went on Good Morning America Tuesday morning, stating that blood clots are very common in young people, resulting in roughly 60-100,000 deaths a year in the United States.

Fans have been patiently waiting for Tori Kelly’s new album to be released on July 28, rushing to Twitter to share their thoughts, sending prayers to Kelly for a speedy recovery.

Kelly first gained recognition at 14 years old when she posted videos of her singing covers of songs on YouTube. She then made her television debut at 16 on Season 9 of American Idol before coming up short of making it to the top 24.

She went on to release her first EP, “Handmade Songs, independently in 2012 and signed with Capitol Records in 2015, releasing her debut full-length album, “Unbreakable Smile” in 2015.

Since then, the singer and songwriter has won two Grammy Awards in 2019 for Best Gospel album and Best Gospel Performance/Song.

Her new album is still set to be released this upcoming Friday. This is a developing story.
