The number 7 seems to be the magic number needed to completely transform one’s way of presenting themselves – at least that’s the amount of time Tennessee Rep. Justin Pearson needed to radically change from who and how he was in college, to who and how he is in our present day.
When comparing a video of Pearson from 2016 to a video of him from recent events, one has to ask themselves, ‘Is this some sort of political theatre act?’
People have been criticizing the 28-year-old politician all over social media, accusing him of adopting certain 1960s civil rights figures – from his speeches to his physical appearance. It seems like a surreal extreme – especially after viewing the videos of Pearson just over 5 years ago.

The raid came days after a shooting where killer Audrey Hale took the lives of 6 victims at the Covenant Elementary school in Nashville.
“I think that it’s important that the people of District 86 are represented by the person that they voted overwhelming to have in the office,” Pearson said in an interview.
Wednesday afternoon, Pearson led a march from the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis to the Shelby County Commission building telling the rally-goers to “show me what Democracy looks like.”
Less than a week after being expelled, the Shelby County Board of Commissioners reappointed Justin Pearson back to his seat after he and 2 other domestic lawmakers occupied the well of the House during a raid of the capitol with protestors demanding more gun control in efforts to end gun violence.
We leave the final verdict to you- is his activist demeanor genuine or just another form of political theatre?
