Michael Franzese recalls Fortune’s huge spread on the “50 biggest and most powerful mob bosses in America,” where he was featured as one of six profiles and listed as #18 in rank, wealth and power, the youngest on the page.
He laughs at how they “made the list up,” but points out that 48 of those 50 are dead, #49 is serving life in prison, and he’s the only one still walking around, which, combined with surviving death threats and FBI warnings, convinces him God’s hand and purpose kept him alive.
