The most well-known hotdog brand Oscar Mayer is ready to take on a new identity for its “Weinermobile.” Under new branding, this is the first time since 1936 that the Chicago-born company changes its name.

Say hello to the “Frankmobile!” The name was changed to pay homage to a new recipe coming out for its hot dogs, this summer. Other than a new decal on the vehicle’s side displaying the ‘Frankmobile’ name, the automobile looks very similar to that of its predecessor.

“While some competitors focused on having strong flavors on a few aromatics like garlic and/or onion, our team worked to balance these out while still keeping strong beef brothy notes throughout the dog,” a spokesperson said.

Customers should also expect to see new packaging as well as a “more balanced flavor profile and iconic beefy taste that is more delicious than ever,” according to their press release.

Specific details of their new recipe have yet to be revealed, nor has it been confirmed if the name will be a permanent thing. The company is, however, seeing what the name change could potentially do for the Oscar Mayer business.

As part of its name change, Oscar Mayer is offering a “Franks for Franks” campaign where any person with an iteration to “Frank” gets a coupon for a free pack of Oscar Mayer Beef Franks.

“The Wienermobile is a beloved American icon that has been sparking smiles and driving crave-ability for our iconic delicious wieners for nearly 100 years,” Oscar Mayer Associate Brand Manager Stephanie Vance said. “This summer, it’s time to highlight another fan-favorite: our delicious 100% Beef Franks. When Oscar Mayer makes anything, we prioritize taste over everything, so no matter what kind of hot dog you enjoy this summer, if it’s Oscar Mayer, you know it will be 100% tasty, and 100% make you smile.”
